New Purchase

So a friend of mine introduced me to these deal of the day websites where they sale 1 thing a day, at a rediculous price. I found something today that i decided was worth buying. I know Christmas is tomorrow, but I also know that i am not getting this and it just became a need. I just ordered some wireless earphones for my ipod. You can see or buy it here. They say that its normally $200 so getting them for $32 seemed like a steal. Plus, our dog just chewed up my headphones on monday so I needed some new ones anyway. If you are interested in the sites that I have found they are; woot; dealoftheday; and 1saleaday. I'm sure there are more, but those are pretty good. Look around on woot. Those guys are pretty funny. Happy Shopping and Merry Christmas!

Business and apple cider

Its saturday night. I am sitting on my chair, drinking some hot apple cider, watching football, and just relaxing. Its the first time in a while. I obviously haven't been blogging much lately. I feel bad for being so neglectful but unfortunately it won't be the last time. I have been super busy with all the Christmas stuff at church with the youth group and all that stuff. We had our annual Christmas Party overnighter last night. I went to sleep around 4:15 am. got up at 7:45.  But luckily today had nothing on the plate so I took about a 4 hour nap. Normally things slow down now with most Christmas stuff almost over. But turns out that I am preaching next Sunday morning in "the big show". I have decided that i will be recycling a message I gave at a youth retreat last spring. So it won't be too hard to get ready. Its just another thing to think about this week. And I have;t even come close to getting my christmas shopping done.
There are lots of things I would like to be posting about. And if I find time I might. Even though the weather outside is frightful, I have really been focused on disc golf in the past couple weeks. I am organizing a tournament on New Years Day here in Olathe. So I imagine that is why its been on my mind. I am really looking forward to playing in it. And its possible I will get to play along side one of the world's best players. His Name is Eric McCabe and he is really good. So if he does play in my tournament I will have plenty to blog about.
Until next time. Have a merry Christmas. Thanks for reading.

Mapple store...

I saw these funny clips on another blog and thought that since all 3 of the people who read this blog use some sort of apple product they would find this funny. Joel, I thought of you when in the second video she says "I never thought a company could be my soul mate..." :)

William Fitzsimmons

So I was looking for a few bands on myspace that i really like. They are local bands one is called sleep dreamer. And the other is The Sailor Sequence. I really enjoy both. I am going to try to go to a show of theirs this friday. But anyway, I was looking on a page of my friend's for their link and I saw an amazing picture of a dude with a Beast beard! So naturally I was drawn to his page. And I am really glad I was. Not only am i in awe of his beard, but he has some really sweet music. Very chill and relaxed. Acoustic folk, with drum machine. Me Likey. You can check him out here. http://www.myspace.com/williamfitzsimmons I have put his picture in here too because its too amazing. And just in case you were like, yeah, maybe I'll check him out... Hopefully after seeing his beast beard you will be compelled. So enjoy this great new find of mine.

The Bearded Wonder

I am 3.5 weeks into my beard. I feel like a real man. I man who hunts for his own food, who could survive in the wilderness for weeks on end. Who knows how to build a fire with flint or sticks. A man who can explain how an engine works, who owns multiple flannel shirts and drives a big truck. But I am not that man. I am not any of those. Although I am pretty sure my brother in-law-in-law fits all of those, except does not have a beard. Ironic.
The longest I have ever grown a beard is for a month. It was in college. We had a beard growing competition and I won. I beat out like 80 other dudes for the man with the fullest beard. So I have some pride invested in this beard thing. I realize that i have been given a gift. The ability to grow a lot of facial hair. Not all men have this gift. I don't want to stop growing it. I have a look in mind that I am going for. My favorite comedian, Zach Galifianakis has an amazing beard. And that is what i want mine to look like.

The problem I have run into is my wife hates the beard. She doesn't understand that beard growing is an art form. It takes weeks of sacrifice, determination, putting up with itchiness. But I will not give up. My goal is to grow it at least until january, with hopes of making it through February. That would be amazing. I want it to be huge. I want small birds to be able make a nest in it. I want to be able to carry my cell phone inside of it. Or pack a lunch and just keep it in there. I want it to be so thick that if I shaved it off, it could clothe and small african child. I want it to be so manly that it makes Chuck Norris feel inferior. That Moses himself would have told me to lead the people out of Egypt. When I am walking toward someone and they see my beard, as they start to say "wow, look how big that beard is." all they get out is wow look how big, and then my beard hits them in the face. I want to be able to sky dive without a parachute because my beard catches enough air to keep me floating. I want my beard to hold the cure to cancer. I don't know how, but with a giant beard anything is possible.
So join me in my beard conquest. I am not doing this just for me, but for everyone who reads this. So it probably is just for me. But oh well. Here is to an amazing growing season, one in which I will reap a beard harvest bigger than I ever dreamed.

My name is, What? My name is, Who? My Name is... Chka, Chka, GRAP

Initials are a funny thing. Luckily for most people they don't spell anything, or if they do its usually something cool like ACE or TNT. I assume most parents think about this before they name their child. Such as, if you were Mrs. or Mr. Smith, You wouldn't name your daughter Abigail Susan. that would just be wrong. Especially if you planned to call her Susan all along. You just put her through torture for nothing. However, I find myself in those shoes. Although it is not as bad as having the initials ASS. I was not shielded from the funny initials game. GRAP. Sound eerily close to another word? And you would say to me, "But wait, isn't your name Anthony?" Yes, and now I am walking away. It takes to long to explain. Or I hear "You have 4 names?" No, I just decided to use random letters that have no significance. Oh well, when life tosses you crappy initials, or grappy initials in my case, you just gotta squeeze it and make crapaid. Or grapaid in my case. Then give it to someone else to drink. So thanks mom and dad for marking me for life. And to my grandpa's, I hope you are happy. The name is Anthony, GRAP 4 short.

New Relationship...

This is my second relationship with someone like you. I pray that our love might be more fruitful than the first. By no fault of their own did it not work out. It was me. I didn't give it the time or dedication it needed. I was neglectful. Inconsiderate. In fact I wasn't even doing it for myself. I did it to please everyone else. But then again, it just didn't deliver on what I had expected. But its over now. It's been over for a very long time. I have moved on. Its time for something new. Something fresh. Something... hip? Thats right, blogspot. You are my new love. Xanga is a distant memory. Never to be remembered again. And of course there will always be facebook, and occasionally myspace that steal my time away from you. But you are all mine. And I don't care who knows about us. But I doubt that very many people will. Its ok. We can be secret lovers. So here is to new beginnings, completely random posts, and what looks to be a rollercoaster love affair. To paraphrase what this relationship will be like, I quote one of the great philosophers of our day..."people say I'm strange, does that make me a stranger? That my best friend was born in a manger." DCTalk - Jesus Freak.

Enjoy.
